The Conference Model - How Organizational Change Becomes a Collaborative Human Experience: A Conversation with Dick and Emily Axelrod

This is the 22nd video produced in the ‘Just in Case…’ mini-series sponsored by Quality and Equality.  In this video we are joined by Dick and Emily Axelrod, pioneers of the use of employee involvement to effect large-scale organizational change. Their book, Terms of Engagement, is one of the most significant books in helping organisation leaders understand how putting people’s need to make sense of their own personal change journey is critical to securing sustainable change results. Their other books, Let’s Stop Meeting Like This, and You Don’t Have to Do it Alone, have changed the quality of meetings forever. Dick lectures on leadership at the University of Chicago. Emily is President of Berrett-Koehler Authors, Inc. and an executive coach. Today they share with us a large group methodology they developed called The Conference Model. They discuss how it works, what theories and principles it’s based on, how and why they came up with the model, and what outcomes you can expect when using The Conference Model. It’s an information packed presentation with knowledge to support the largest of change efforts all the way down to a small-group meeting.
