Listening with the Intent to Change the World: A Conversation with Cathy Royal

In this video we are joined by Dr. Cathy Royal, a highly respected Applied Behavioral Scientist, well known educator and Organization Development Practitioner.  She is a subject matter expert in Leadership Development, Systems, Social Justice and Appreciative Inquiry. Cathy is also known as a powerful Social Justice advocate for over 50 years since the civil disobedience of the 1960s. Cathy uses her “lived experiences” in her work and always speaks from her heart about what matters to her while sharing her brilliant conceptual insights. Cathy is a Board member (2020-2023) and member Emeritus of NTL Institute. In this video, Cathy shares her wisdom and theory of quadrant behaviour to help us to be more alert, insightful in how to engage with systemic ‘isms’ as well as knowing how to dismantle its various forms.  Her input will help OD Practitioners to support our clients to look at the manifestation of the various form of “isms” within their organizations.

Biography

Cathy Royal, PhD. Is the mother of three “only” children and Nana to Adeloye and Morenike. She has been a Social Justice advocate for over 50 years since the civil disobedience of the 1960s. Cathy uses her “lived experiences” in her work as a Behavioral Scientist, educator and Organization Development practitioner.  She is a subject matter expert in Leadership Development, Systems, Social Justice and Appreciative Inquiry. Cathy is a Board member (2020-2023) and member Emeritus of NTL Institute. She is the advocacy chair for ZONTA Club of Prince George’s County (Maryland) and an adjunct faculty member at Colorado Technical University (CTU).
